Church School is well under way!
Church school began on September 7 with family worship and an ice cream social after worship. Classes began on September 14. Children attend worship with their families and then after the children's message, they leave to attend classes. Classes end at 11:15, about the same time that the service ends.

Community Supper for The Falmouth Food Pantry and the Falmouth Fuel Fund
Tuesday, October 7, from 5:00pm - 6:30pm

We are excited to announce the Church will be holding a community wide roast turkey supper for up to 200 people in Beinema Hall, to help raise funds for the Town's Fuel Fund and for the Food Pantry. We are extending an open invitation to all residents in our community and are especially inviting our town leaders in government, business and charitable causes, to come break bread together, and to donate whatever they can to these causes, whether it is just pocket change or larger sums.

Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet in the church parlor on Thursday, October 16 at 7:15pm. This wonderful mission distributes shawls to those who are ill, grieving, in transition, or in any other situation where comfort, prayer, and peace are needed. As always, we welcome newcomers and gift card from JoAnn Fabrics, A.C. Moore, and Michaels.

Music Ministry
Adult Chancel Choir rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7:30pm-9:00pm and Sunday mornings at 9am. New members are always welcome.
Other music groups are also looking for new members. Rehearsal times for Adult Chancel Bell Choir, Youth Bell Choir, and Youth Choir will be announced at a future time. Holly Days Fair -Saturday, November 22
Eunice Wilcox, Chair
jwilcox754@aol.com

Summer is over. Fall foliage and church fairs are fast approaching. Please mark your calendars, November 22. because you are invited to join our largest annual church fund-raising event, the Holly Days Fair !

Thankfully, many already have agreed to chair or work on various committees.
Are you willing and able to join us to provide another wonderful Fair? There are several openings available and no resumes needed. Meet or contact Eunice Wilcox who will be serving as Fair Chair this year.

  • Jewelry - We need costume, gems or jewels for the Jewelry Table.
  • Books - We recycle a lot of books for a small fee for people’s enjoyment.
  • White Elephant Room - Are you doing fall cleaning? Set aside those unused items.
  • Wreath Supplies - Spruce cones, Scotch pine cones (short and fat), red winterberries, holly rosehips, and wire coat hangers
  • Workers for wreath making - are needed during the ten days prior to the fair to sort and decorate wreaths to fill the many orders. Bows need to be made this fall as well.
  • Handwork Table - Do you sew, knit, embroider, crochet, quilt, hook, braid? Do you bead, rubber stamp or make some interesting crafts? Consider making some of your specialties for the handwork table.
  • Jams, Jellies and Preserves - A reminder from the Jammin' Crew ~ As your garden overflows and you set about to preserve the harvest, keep us in mind for a few jars of goodies for the Jams and Jellies table at the Holly Days Fair. We have been working hard to put up strawberry, raspberry and blueberry jams and jellies. Thanks to a generous donation of a special pectin from Anne Gilbert, we will be offering many more low-sugar jams this year and they are delicious! Our focus is now turning to pickles and relishes. We're still looking for more folks who would like to learn how to can their favorite foods, so just give us a call if you're interested. And we're always happy to receive donations of produce, sugar, and new or recycled canning jars (official canning jars only please, not jars from commercial products). Thank you to Judy Currier who already donated a dozen jelly jars and to Phoebe Horne who picked up tons of jars at the Lions Club auction.

Project Feed

Project Feed is an emergency food pantry to families in the Portland area who are referred by city and social service agencies, Salvation Army and Ingraham. The Ministry of Justice and Outreach will be collecting Shaw's receipts, which in turn, Shaw's will give $1 for every $100 worth of receipts to the project. A family in crisis may receive a week's worth of food once in four months.
Look for a pink box in Fellowship Hall to deposit your receipts. So, when you bring your offering think to bring your Shaw's receipts as well. Thanks for caring for others in this way. If you have any questions contact Joanne Varga at jpvarga@maine.rr.com.
